The Palm House Inn Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located in downtown San Jose’s east side.  Although within the metropolitan area, the Palm House Inn is located on a quite adjacent street across from the Mascara Theatre where Costa Rican comedy plays are seen. 

At just one block north from the hotel are the Arts and Crafts Street Market, the Democracy Plaza and the National Museum which make for great places to visit when exploring the downtown area.

San Jose is Costa Rica’s capital thus the main public institutions and banks are nearby making it quite a busy area.  However, San Jose is currently undergoing a facelift in order to offer pedestrians a safer place to roam. 

The city offers two pedestrian malls which make for a pleasant way to explore San Jose on foot while interacting with the locals.  The Central Avenue Mall has been open for some years and starts at the Cult Plaza where the National Theatre stands out.  The newest mall opened in 2008 and runs along 4th Avenue.

Several bus stops are near the hotel which will allow for the guest to adventure in exploring the neighboring towns such as San Pedro where a number of restaurants and pubs are available.
