The practice of yoga has gradually made its presence in Costa Rica as more and more people look to alternative lifestyles that can help them cope with stress and hassle of modern life.

Although the majority of yoga instructors and locations are mainly found at Costa Rica hotels located in the Pacific and Atlantic Coast, more and more have made their way to San Jose.

On Saturday July 4th and Sunday July 5th, the Hotel San Jose Palacio in Costa Rica will be the location for the Expo Yoga and Go Green! Marketplace where guests will be exposed to a variety of yoga classes for all levels, lectures, special activities and music among others.

The special activities that will take place at the Yoga Expo will include music concerts, conferences regarding alternative medicine, specialized Yoga classes among others.  The event will open to the public and to yogis of all levels.  Certain specialized classes and concerts will have an addition cost of approximately USD $10.00.

Guest speakers at the Yoga Expo and Go Green! Marketplace will include Juan Carlos Briceño from the Chopra Center and Marry Praffard, both from the United States.  Local speakers will include a variety of guests all with ample experience in their own grounds.

The Go Green! Marketplace will gather a number of hotels, yoga retreats, yoga studios and stores as well as those who promote natural medicine, natural healing and biodegradable products among others.  Guests will have the opportunity to purchase and learn about different products that promote and sell environmentally sustainable products.

The Yoga Expo and Go Green! Marketplace will be held at the Barcelo San Jose Palacio Hotel on Saturday July 4th from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday July 5th from 9:00am to 6:00pm.  For more information on activities, rates and schedules, visit the Yoga Expo and Go Green! Marketplace online.
