Dominican singer, songwriter and self producer Juan Luis Guerra will be performing in Costa Rica for the second time in his career. After 16 years from his first successful concert in 1992, Juan Luis Guerra will be performing November 30th, 2008.

The concert will be held in the province of Alajuela as it was back in 1992, except that instead of performing at the local soccer stadium as he first did, the concert will be held at the Zona E, across the La Guacima racetrack in Ciruelas.

In a phone interview carried out by local Costa Rican newspaper La Nacion, Juan Luis Guerra mentioned that he will be performing at least 24 songs. The songs he picked are a careful selection of his greatest hits throughout his 23 year stint.

Viewers will enjoy his most popular hits such as La Bilirrubina, Ojalá que llueva Café and Burbujas de Amor as well as his most recent release such as La llave de mi corazón.

Guerra’s music style is a rich fusion of Merengue and Bolero combined with an African/Pop/Latin mixture as well as the traditional Dominican Bachata. However, he does not limit himself to the before mentioned styles and also includes Balads, Salsa, Rock ‘n Roll and Gospel.

Costa Rica has eagerly awaited the return of Juan Luis Guerra after 16 years. Although tickets are still not on sale nor have their prices been announced, fans are already lining up to assure that they won’t miss out on this event.
