The music of the recently deceased King of Pop has reached the most remote places on earth and the province of Heredia in Costa Rica has not been the exception. The town of Heredia, located 20 minutes from downtown San Jose, will be filled with the music of Michael Jackson this Sunday, July 5th.
The National Band of Heredia will be varying their repertoire this Sunday and will be including within their repertoire popular Michael Jackson classics such as Thriller, Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough, Bad, Heal the World among others.
The band will be playing at the Central Park in Heredia at 10:00am and it will be the first time this band interprets the music of Jackson. The band’s second director, Mario Gamboa, mentioned that the band had been rehearsing a medley of Jackson’s music to be presented in August.
However, due to the star’s recent death, the band has included the piece in their repertoire for this Sunday. For the majority of the band’s musicians, having the opportunity to interpret the music of Michael Jackson in this special presentation is quite emotional as many of them grew up listening to his greatest hits.
Aside from interpreting Michael Jackson’s most memorable hits, the National Band of Heredia will also be interpreting the music of Richard Wagner, Dimitri Shostakovich and Costa Rican composer Julio Fonseca.
The concert will be free of charge and open to the entire public at the Central Park in Heredia, Sunday July 5th at 10:00am.
