This was WONDERFUL… the staff was great and hotel was amazing. Husband and I went for anniversary and we could not have been more pleased. The staff was nice and pools were great. The excursions were the best part – zip-lines through the rainforest and mud-baths are a must!!!
We will go again and only to this resort!!! Remember, Costa Rica is a 3rd World Country ….so you HAVE to be careful where you stay and I would for sure tell anyone to stay here.
Lots of activities and beautiful scenery. You will NOT be disappointed.

My husband and two friends and I just got back from a week at the Fuego del Sol. We were a bit nervous booking this hotel because it was so affordable, but we were more than pleased with the accomodations and the view. The room was wonderful and overlooked a nationally protected area of forest and mountains and a river.

The pool was great, never crowded, the beach was a good escape from the pool, although it is a bit shelly and rough on the feet. The people that worked there and the excursion coordinators in the hotel lobby were very friendly and helpful. The bar at the pool was easy to get drinks at, and the bar in the lobby area was a great place to sit and relax at night. We walked from Jaco to our resort once and it only took 15 minutes. There’s cute little shops right by the resort and some restaurants. Overall, I’d go back and stay there again anytime.

Gee, where should I start?

The staff: can you say we loved them, missed them, wish they were our buddies? Every moment (not just day) was a smile, rooms kept clean, no one was ever annoyed with a request and they all seemed refreshed and happy every day – well, who wouldn’t at this place.

The Hotel & Wedding: very beautiful, white linen covered chairs, colored rose petals down the aisle, bamboo fans and shells for guests, the most beautiful flower arrangements and the view outside is to die for – truly, looks like a slice of heaven.

The food: Spectacular! Colorful! Plentiful! Good Variety! Lots of fruit available! And you can truly trust the filtered water and ice, not one person fell ill – plenty of bottled water available, too.

Okay, you get my gist – it was almost as if someone had sprinkled pixie dust over our entire group at Fuego del Sol. It surpassed our expectations, everyone was so pleased and happy – always having fun – one of our favorite things was to sit in the big bath water warm “infinity” type of pool with beverages, staring up at the stars and chatting/laughing into all hours of the night.

At the end of the trip, I even cried that I had to leave – as you can only have that first time A+ memorable experience once and it was truly memorable. I WILL SO BE BACK, can you tell?!

17 Standard rooms and 2 Jr. Suites. Great hotel, on the beach and with a surf break right in front of it. All they had available was a Jr. Suite and I was just looking for a standard room but for the few dollars extra it was worth it.

The staff was quite helpful with all of my requests. Very quiet and laid back atmosphere right on the beach, also much cleaner than the beach at Jaco.

Fuego del Sol offers just enough comfort for us to relax while reminding us why we love vacationing in CR in the first place.
