The tournament has been dubbed “Expression Session” and will consist in having surfers show off their most radical tricks out on the waves. The best performance will be prized in cash courtesy of the tournament’s sponsors.
The event will take place specifically in Playa Hermosa located 4 kilometers south of downtown Jaco Beach. The judges and surfers will be located in front of the Backyard Hotel. The Expression Session Tournament will end at 6pm and will be immediately followed by a live performance of the reggae roots band Fuerza Dread.
Costa Rica hotels in the Jaco Beach area are quite abundant and vary in rates, size and amenities. The area is extremely popular among local and foreign tourist for its surfing as well as night life. Arranging accommodations in the area is very easy and accessible.
To get to Jaco Beach from San Jose, you may either take the public bus or arrange for private transportation or car rental. The concierge at your hotel in San Jose should easily be able to point you out in the right direction.
