The hotel and the staff were good, and helpful when needed. Grounds were well kept and the staff that looked after them were also freindly.
It was amazing! The beach, the grounds, the staff, the room, the food and the drinks were great! If I were to complain about anything it would be that it was that we had to leave sometime.
I have stayed at better resorts in Costa Rica, but for the price, this was a great choice. The Master Suite Villa was just beautiful. Overall it was a wonderful trip. I highly suggest picking up the free tourist guide in the lobby, it offers great insight to local attractions, tours and restuarants.
I would love to go back and I suggest that anyone who wants to visit Costa Rica should stay at Casa Caletas.

I booked my trip and was completely happy with all aspects of my week at Casa Caletas. First thing I did was take my watch off and didn’t put it back on till the last day of my trip. The road in wasn’t bad at all (Really no lie!) I used a car service that the hotel booked for me. I thought from reviews I would be going in pot holes the size of a car but the road into Casa Caletas is no different than any other road I was on in the area. If you have never been on a dirt road then maybe it would be a surprise to you. Rent a 4X4 or take a car service your in Costa Rica not downtown LA.
My room was very nice and the AC worked great against the humidity. They have mango trees all throughout the resort and if you are quick enough you can get one before the different lizards, green iguanas and black iguanas get then first when it falls off the trees. I had Breakfast & Dinner each day at the hotel and was not disappointed at all. If you enjoy wine like I do just ask for it and they will hook you up with a great bottle of wine.
Lunch if I was at the resort I had pool side and again the food was never disappointing. The wait staff is very nice and helpful and understands English which is good since my Spanish is very limited. I went for a jog/walk each morning on the beach in both directions. (Right and left) Both ways are worth the time and much to see either way you go. I saw so much sea life and if you go at low tide you can see a lot in the tide pool and rocks. I used wet shoes and tennis shoes but did walk on the beach without shoes in the water. I guess the area is famous for this dark blue sand but it is starting to wash away I was told by another person staying at the hotel.

Casa Caletas is ideal for people like my husband and myself who stay so busy with work and kids that this is what we wanted. We stayed in the Master Suite which was nicely furnished (great bed) and kitchenette. The roads are awful, which is great, it keeps most people away . We will never go to a tourist resort again. Crowded at the pool meant 2-4 small families! The staff was perfect, the food was exquisite but worth every penny. It’s a beautiful resort where we felt pampered and every need attended to.
During the 7 days we were there we were able to fall madly in love again, walking on the beach and watching sunsets. With no distractions, it felt like when we first started dating (we may never take the kids again!). When life is difficult now and then we are able to say “At least we had Costa Rica”.
The trip was an adventure driving to remote areas and through almost unpassable rivers, just dangerous enough to create romance and great memories. We took a ride on horseback to discover butterflies larger than my hand and wild monkeys in the trees. WOW WOW WOW!
We can’t recommend Casa Caletas enough and are planning our next trip back with friends to stay in one of the beautiful master suites, we feel the need to share this experience of tranquility.
I wish I could post pictures but I’m just not that good on computers.

I recently returned from a “destination wedding” held at the magnificent Casa Caletas Hotel near Playa Coyote, Guanacaste in Costa Rica. I assisted the bride and groom with their wedding arrangements and also assisted with the travel plans for their guests. I worked with the wedding coordinator (Sylvia) at the hotel, and she and I became very close friends.
The wedding was outside under a beautiful terrace covered with exotic flowers and overlooking the breathtaking views of the ocean. The reception held that evening in an open air section of the hotel allowed for late night dancing, fine Costa Rican dining and glorious desserts that were serviced by an attentive staff.
This truly was a memorable wedding/honeymoon for my clients and an unforgetable trip for myself at the beautiful Casa Caletas Hotel.
