The National Institute of Biodiversity Park, or better known as the InBio Park, has recently opened a new attraction for children. The attraction is called La Granjita which translates to Little Farm. The Granjita consists of a number of baby animals all under the tender age of 3 months.
Animals such as ducklings, baby rabbits, chicks, sheep and goats will entertain and teach young children about the importance these creatures are for humanity. Children will be able to interact with these animals as well as learn about them and even feed them.
The InBio Park is located in Heredia at just 15 minutes from downtown San Jose. The park was created in the year 2000 by the National Institute of Biodiversity so that they could teach people about Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity. The InBio Park offers its guests an interactive experience with nature. Guests will be able to see several different samples of Costa Rica’s flora and fauna grouped into areas according to their climatic region.
Samples of flora and fauna from the Humid Tropical Forest, the Central Valley Forest, and the Tropical Forest as well as from lowlands are located throughout the park’s premises. Within the park’s 5 hectares, visitors will also be able to observe birds, poisonous frogs, snakes, caimans, turtles, iguanas, tarantulas and many other species. The InBio Park is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 8am to 4pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 5pm.
