As first time vacationers to the City of Limon, our stay at the Hotel Colon Caribe was exceptional.
The Hotel management and staff went out of their way to accommodate all our requests and needs, which were greatly appreciated. They willingly arranged tours/sightseeing and transportation for us. The tropical setting of the Hotel with its many coconut trees, tropical foliage, beach front and Caribean breeze enhanced the peaceful setting.
Management of the Hotel were constantly vigilant to ensure our comfort and enjoyment.
We wish to thank all the staff, from the resturant, bar, housekeeping and management for making our stay a happy one.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a beautiful cabin, and we loved it! The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. I really don’t care for boring hotel rooms that look the same and have furniture that was mass produced in China. The design of the bungalow and the furniture was beautiful and unique. The bathroom was huge. We woke up to the sounds of birds chirping in the morning. Plenty of iguanas and red squirrels running around. At night, we saw very cute and shy raccoons eating bananas which were left out at night for them.

It was nice to be away from the center of town. Surfing wasn’t as crowded. We were able to enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner next ot the beautiful pool. To get to the all the shopping and crowds, it was a very short walk on the beach.

That was an absolutely fabulous vacation! We are DEFINITELY going to come back to Tamarindo some day. In my opinion, the absolutely BEST place to stay in Tamarindo is the Cala Luna!

Back from a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica ! What a wonderful country ! People are so easy and simple always smiling !
We were there for 4 nights, where we made new friends among the Ticos !!!

Thanks to all the wonderful staff and all the staff at the restaurant !

It’s clean everywhere, rooms and the bathrooms are ok, the rest of it, is so perfect.

Again, this is a wonderful destination if you’re not afraid of CALOR ! ’cause it is really hot in Jaco and very humid !
Rent a car or I must say a 4×4, and travel the country ! The roads are bumpy and narrow !

But the National Parks, the birds, the butterflies, the frogs and all the flowers and waterfalls are so wonderful that you will just fall in love with this country !

Muchas Gracias a todos en el Balcon del Mar ! y Pura Vida Loca de la parte de Antje y Charles de Canada.

When traveling to a foreign country for the first time, one of the main questions is: What to wear? Costa Rica only has two seasons: the dry season and the green or rainy season . The Costa Rican dry season happens during the months of December throughout April. The temperatures are quite high and almost never exceeding the 90 degree range. During the months of December and January, the North and Northeast trade winds sweep across the country thus providing cool evenings and nights. Light cloths are recommended during day activities and a light jacket or sweater for the cool December and January evenings. The rainy season, also known as the green season, runs from April to November. During this period, water proof clothing and umbrellas are a must. The typical rainy season day is a clear cool morning followed by a vigorous afternoon shower storm. The usual tropical storm hits the region around the months of May through October which can bring at least 3 or 4 days of clouded skies and nonstop rain. In the Caribbean and Pacific Coastal areas, temperatures rarely fluctuate and stay within the 75 to 89 Fahrenheit degrees. When going to the beach, make sure you where the proper sunscreen protection as well as a hat. When visiting the country’s higher terrains such as volcanoes and mountains, temperatures are usually quite cool and stay within the 43 to 60 Fahrenheit degrees. A cool jacket or sweater and water proof shoes are recommended. Unless you plan to attend a formal event, Costa Ricans normally dress in an informal manner. If you plan to visit the theatre or go out for dinner, casual attire may be worn.

Casa Caletas is ideal for people like my husband and myself who stay so busy with work and kids that this is what we wanted. We stayed in the Master Suite which was nicely furnished (great bed) and kitchenette. The roads are awful, which is great, it keeps most people away . We will never go to a tourist resort again. Crowded at the pool meant 2-4 small families! The staff was perfect, the food was exquisite but worth every penny. It’s a beautiful resort where we felt pampered and every need attended to.

During the 7 days we were there we were able to fall madly in love again, walking on the beach and watching sunsets. With no distractions, it felt like when we first started dating (we may never take the kids again!). When life is difficult now and then we are able to say “At least we had Costa Rica”.

The trip was an adventure driving to remote areas and through almost unpassable rivers, just dangerous enough to create romance and great memories. We took a ride on horseback to discover butterflies larger than my hand and wild monkeys in the trees. WOW WOW WOW!

We can’t recommend Casa Caletas enough and are planning our next trip back with friends to stay in one of the beautiful master suites, we feel the need to share this experience of tranquility.

I wish I could post pictures but I’m just not that good on computers.
